History lives
in every room

Built in 1836 as a smart lodging house for visitors arriving in Cheltenham for the season, No. 3 Trinity Terrace has welcomed guests for nearly two centuries. Today, The Portland carries that tradition forward — a Grade II listed Late Georgian building, lovingly restored with modern comforts.

We opened our doors in January 2020, and seven en-suite bedrooms spread across four floors retain much of the original character: impressive entrance hallway, period cornicing, and a remarkable breakfast room stretching the full length of the building.
